This position is responsible for managing and
directing staff accountable for all enterprise
technology systems, including hardware,
servers and networks. The key focus in this
role is Infrastructure Management and Service
Management expertise to deliver IT services to
the level of quality required in the current
and future SLAs.
Primary Goals:
- Develops and builds an exceptional team
by providing leadership and direction to
team members, recruiting resources.
Translates high-level organizational goals
to staff work goals. Evaluates personnel
ongoing and as a part of yearly review
process to ensure the efficient operation
of the department.
- Ensure that employees feel part of a
team environment and take steps to ensure
high team morale/cohesiveness is
maintained. Mentor team members on process
development, technical design and
architecture guidelines and value to
business.
- Provide long-term strategic planning to
ensure platform performance, scalability,
capacity, and security is aligned with
current and future business needs. Ability
to efficiently perform tactical planning
for projects and maintenance activities.
- Analyze, assess and recommend new or
emerging technologies for the present and
future business needs. Evaluate the needs
of departments and establish priorities
for budgets, which include
hardware/software resources.
- Regularly review operational processes
for efficiency, effectiveness and
compliance with the purpose to instigating
a continuous process of improvement within
all technical operational areas.
- Manage the administration, builds,
deployment, maintenance, support and
upgrade of servers, desktop PCs, networks,
hardware, software, operating systems,
etc.
- Responsible for migrations and change
control for the enterprise environment.
- Develop, publish and evaluate
performance metrics for IT services,
recommending changes and improvements as
appropriate. Monitor and report status for
all reported problems.
- Assist staff in diagnosing and solving
computer equipment and software problems.
- Oversee and review asset inventories and
software license compliance.
- Manage 24/7 operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Wintel server
hardware, software and peripheral equipment;
Microsoft operating systems including Windows
NT, 200x, XP; Microsoft Terminal services, and
Citrix; Microsoft IIS, Exchange 5.5, 200x;
familiarity with network telecommunications.
Strong understanding of security/vulnerability
assessment and mitigation.
· Technical knowledge of business processes,
computer software and hardware application
techniques and recent developments in
information systems applications and equipment.
- Experience with systems development,
project management and package/technology
selection/implementation methodology, with
expert knowledge of Windows Server and
OS’s (Multiple versions including Active
Directory) and Linux experience a plus.
- A strong understanding of Clustering and
Load Balancing Technologies for file
system and application tiers and strong
skill sets in DNS, LDAP, SAN, Monitoring
tools, Shared storage, and Application
Servers.
- The ability to manage code promotions
and source code control systems.
- Experience with a wide range of
Technologies spanning; Relational
Databases, Networks, OSs, Security,
Testing tools, web based technologies and
TCP/IP protocols and extensive experience
troubleshooting and diagnosing system or
network issues.
- The ability to complete multiple
concurrent tasks in a fast paced
environment under tight deadlines.
- An assertive and outgoing personality
with creativity and the ability to think
out of the box.
- A “ hands on” work philosophy.
MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
experience in computer science,
engineering or other related discipline
and at least 8 years of infrastructure,
service and operations management
experience, with a minimum of 5 years
previous supervisory experience managing
the IT function.
- MCSE & CCNA preferred.
